Here is the first part of my Greece story
Lefkada is a beautiful island, with 21 amazing beaches, but first things first.
Your travel starts in the underwater tunnel, between the land and the island. To my big regret, this tunnel is all covered, so you won't have the chance to admire the sea when you look up, but you can use all your imagination to see through the walls :).
Underwater Tunnel Lefkada, 2018As I said, Lefkada island has 21 amazing beaches, but it can take some time to visit all of them, so i picked 5- Porto Katsiki, Milos, Megali Petra, Kavalikefta and Agios Ioannis. Each of these has its own special thing.
Porto Katsiki is the main beach attractions of Lefkada and among the 10 best beaches in Greece and in the Mediterranean.
It is located 45 km southwest of the island's capital and close to Athani village .
Abrupt white cliffs form a wild yet magnificent backdrop and a unique antithesis with the deep blue waters of the Ionian.
Porto Katsiki is simply irresistible for thousands of visitors around the world and a unique sightseeing experience It is frequented with private yachts and is simply the best way to access this beach, apart from a car. It can also be reached by taxi-boat from the villages of Vassiliki and Nidri.
Ps. A car parking and bars are found on top of the stairs.

The other side of coin, is the crowd that never ends. And you should know that in the morning the beach is overshadowed, so the photos won't be so good, on the other hand, when the sun comes up, there a lot of people.
So if you like more intimate, more quiet beach, you should read next paragraph.
Milos :
Milos is wonderful beach located 14 km southwest of Lefkada Town, between the coasts of Agios Nikitas and Kathisma. Mylos is characterized by its unspoilt environment and beautiful features. Surrounded by the streep green cliffs that offers an imposing backdrop, the area is totally secluded, ideal for those who want to spend some relaxing and peaceful moments in this popular island.
This beach impresses visitors with the large size, the soft sand and the crystal water. It doesn't have any tourist facilities, so it provides the best spot for total relaxation.Source
Mylos, 2018Megali Petra:
Megali Petra and Kavalikefta beaches, are also for those who like more peaceful places, but the diferrence these and Mylos is ROCKS! O my God Rocks!! I loooove rocks so much. I love how they are stable over the years. They are natural, enduring. I love that a stone will look different when it is sprinkled with water. The stones are pure magic! I think in one of my past life i was a geologist )).
Megali Petra beach, which means "big rock" is situated exactly beside of Kavalikefta, so you can visit them at the same time.
The beaches are partially organized with sun beds and umbrellas scattered between the rocks. The wild fascinating landscape of Megali Petra offers a nice feeling of seclusion and privacy.
Close to the seashore lay many rock formations which give a wild aspect to the beach.
Note for parents! Children need extra caution because the waters are deep and sometimes it might get windy.
And the last but not the least is Agios Ioannis - the closest beach to Lefkada Town separated only by a couple of kilometres.
It is very beautiful and very windy beach so is the ideal destination for windsurfing. Agios Ioannis is home to some old windmills that create a charming atmosphere. We are sitting next to the beach, so we were able to feel all the music and dance of waves.
Nights, clouds, lights View from the our hotel "San Giovanni Luxury Studios", 2018 Agios Ioannis Beach, 2018Dimossari Waterfalls of Nydri Lefkada :
The name Dimossari has derived from the word Dimos, which used to be the ancient state where numerous watermills were found.
Easy access, a short drive from the main road and a 20 minutes walk from the free parking place. There is a cute cafe at the start of the road. The watterfals are very beautiful. You can realieve yourself from the sweltering heat and swim in the crystal clear waters of the lakes.
Nydri, 2018 Nydri, 2018 Nydri 2018Doukato lighthouse
Location Cape Ducato.
The lighthouse was built in 1913. It is one of the most preferred scuba diving spots in Lefkada, as it affords a depth of 40 meters and visibility of 30 meters. I'm not diver but i doooo love lighthouses. It is so mysterious for me.
I really believe that lighthouses keep some secrets))
Lefkada Town.
If you love greek style, old building and narrow streets, Lefkada town is your heaven. Beautiful flower gardens, old doors, cute bicycles parked at colourful houses with blue doors, taverns, ice creams cafe and souvenir shops, all these beauties you will find here, in amazing Lefkada town.
Hope you enjoy!!
